Rationales For Oregon Rock Climbing

By Tammie Caldwell

It is easy for someone to refuse to engage in outdoor activities because of the rain. However, despite the number of rainy days, there are many who still engage in Oregon rock climbing. There are a number of reasons for this which are looked at in this article.

One of the reasons for a person participating in an activity in bad weather is the challenge. They like to push themselves to do what would be considered unthinkable in someone else's mind. They live their lives to be more than what people expect them to be and do what others expect them to do.

There is also the breathtaking views that one gets to enjoy, especially in Oregon. When a climber reaches the top they can see the valleys and lakes which are quite beautiful to look at. This alone is great motivation to climb, even though the weather might not be as ideal as it should be.

In addition to the view, there is the joy of being around good people. When someone has the company of others who enjoy being active, they will always be inspired to take part in sports activities. However, this is not true in all cases since there are people who prefer to do these activities alone.

For some individuals, this could be the first time they have ever gone rock climbing. They like the idea of trying something new which keeps them healthy and invigorated. If they are used to writing in their journals they will have an experience to write about, especially if the weather is not what they expect it to be.

Some people might decide to engage in sports in rainy weather because of the rain. They love the rain and like to experience it whenever they can. Taking part in a sporting activity is one way for them to do so.

Another reason a person might have to rock climb is to accomplish a goal they might have. This might be similar to a challenge, but it is more thought out. They might be working on getting healthy and decide that when they reach their ideal weight they are going to climb a mountain of some kind to show themselves how far they have come in terms of strength and fitness.

One can also use the opportunity to see the state of Oregon in a way that is unique. There are a number of ways to experience a state such as its festivals, shops, and museums. However, when one is able to look at the natural landscape from above the ground, the feeling is very different. One can see the land in its beauty for many miles as oppose to another intersection at street level.

There are a number of great places to climb in Oregon, such as Mt. Hood, The Big Dip, and Mt. Washington. One can make use of a tour guide or a native who is familiar with the areas of choice. If one is not ready to take on any weather challenges that might come up, there is always the in-climb.
