Irresistible Carp Boilie Recipe Ingredients And Revealing Flavour Secrets Of Nutritional Baits!

By Tim Richardson

Make your baits work the best and catch the most fish! How many top flavours can you name and actually describe precisely why they work? The way that solvents and flavours alter water molecules as well as the powerful impact of flavour bioactive components mean you can instantly super-boost any bait. Combine the most stimulatory ingredients additives and flavours to make totally instant winning baits; read on now!

I have a reputation based primarily on my recommendations of paste baits and no egg boilies and pastes. I'm well known for my recommendation of no heat baits and fermentation, which have been cornerstones of my successes going back since the seventies; this was long before the commercial egg-sealed boiled boilie fixation of the masses was influenced by the carp magazines and advertorials! Let's start by considering several soluble stimulatory instantly-acting ingredients and additives suitable for paste and no egg, no heat nutritional baits! Among this group here are some very well proven base materials: Belachan block, shrimp paste, liver paste, luncheon meat, spam, corned beef, sausage paste, crab paste, fish paste, salmon paste, chicken paste, sweetcorn, hemp and crushed halibut pellet.

Paste design from the sixties is really as I would most recommend, before heat and eggs crept into the new concepts; nutritional baits are best, functionally with no egg and heat sealing! Baits don't need to be complicated to work, but what matters are the basic principles of exploiting sensitivities, solubilities, optimised concentration gradients released, and stimulants levels (in maximum levels!) The old school ingredients of salts, peanut butter, Marmite and liquidised sweetcorn in white wheat flour catches fish and is soluble and instant, just as corn flour based flavoured sweetened custard powder also works! It is very wise to seriously work on maximizing and optimising your baits based on old recipes, because fish are most sensitive to such old recipes as used in the majority of readymade baits!

My point is really simple that you must ideally liquidise and break down your whole food ingredients and make them become far more water-soluble and detectable by fish for them to work best! Such baits physically and chemically perform better than heated baits which are just based on fine powders, because very dense heated boilies simply cannot interact with water molecules and the water column like pastes can! Some anglers actually operate out of fear and moan about their paste baits breaking down too soon! Such anglers cannot grasp the fact that baits must actually partially break down in order to be detected i.e. elements of your bait must interact with water molecules for them to even be detected!

A great example is use of Belachan block where as a whole it is not detected very easily, but when you make a concentrated solution of it and taste it then its rich amino profile seriously stimulates the senses; i.e. bringing the bait into its finer components! When Belachan is mixed with water in concentrated solution then this is where the principle of solubility and responses really shows, even to our dumbed-down human senses and it's where we really are most stimulated by all the salts, amino acids and other stimulants and attractants in Belachan, or indeed in any other whole food or liquidised food item, (everything being enhanced by Belachan taste!) Test any substance against similar ones for the best palatability, feeding response, solubility and stimulatory behaviours responses with your fish; not every Belachan is the same as another so test and compare all substances you use! The very best Belachan will have the strongest aroma and taste and dissolves in cold water the fastest!

In understanding bait just think for a moment about how much more easily sensed a paste is compared to a boilie made using the same paste; this is a massively profound point in understanding true bait function and conductivity and more which is essential to fish stimulation! There is no comparison between what Belachan and soluble fermented shrimp products leach off when compared to whole shrimp, prawn or krill! One big lesson here is in order to make the best baits you must use a high proportion of soluble and broken-down substances to maximise bait detection and stimulation (and this very seriously matters in egg-sealed boiled baits!) Always make sure that out of the food groups in your baits these are broken down; this principle applies the most to whole protein ingredients!

Krill meal is a well known big fish ingredient. But its effect pales into insignificance compared to hydrolysed krill protein liquid and powder. Hydrolysed krill protein beats whole krill big-time! I hope you get my point, that solubility is vital, but what actually is released from your baits is even more vital because you need to be releasing substances in levels which stimulate feeding the strongest!

Whenever you break down your whole foods, even liquidizing whole foods in the first instance, then you are doing exactly what is needed to improve your homemade baits relating to solubility and detection. Years ago when special pastes were the primary method anglers might soak and breakdown trout pellets and mix them with any of a number of soluble ingredients to form their baits, including a significant presence of milk proteins and others including liver yeasts, fish, vegetable and marine sources forming extremely soluble instant baits with no eggs or heating! The next step after using soluble materials is to further make their components even more detectable, and this is where enzyme treatment and fermentation processes designed within your baits is essential to maximizing success! (All these aspects and far more profoundly potent and powerful substances, processing and bait making are a part of my bait tuitions and my new written products.)

On an individual basis I have been teaching bait tuition clients on my one to one courses for the past 6 years, ranging from complete beginners to the most experienced anglers, with genuinely incredible results! My years of teaching my personal bait tuitions has now led me to produce a picture and word product containing information proven by my many tuition clients, defeating the most popular leading brand readymade boilies!
