If you have experienced that feeling of excitement prior to a big event and have all of these positive vision of you doing everything right, then you are on the right track. Anyone who is about to venture to something new experiences the same wonderful feeling. Its a mixture of excitement and nervousness about something whose outcome is yet to be decided.

Any event that involves competition and public viewing has its strange way of getting on our nerves. Sometimes we can blame it on adrenaline. Such is the case of those who are planning to join the Virginia triathlons. Aside from the huge number of people who will be joining it, the thought of competing for three different cardio competitions can be exhilirating.

Those who are planning for the big event has to make sure that they are well prepared for it. A triathlon is nothing like those basic marathons you join. It is more strenuous and demanding. The hours spend on the entire activity is also longer. To make sure that you are fully geared up for the event, do not forget to do the following.

Find out the schedule. This is a basic concern, but something that is also often ignored by many. Even after you receive a notice about it, you need to make extra effort to make the schedules more specific. You may also need to check on the pre gathering activities that will happen prior to the actual day. In here, you may be asked to gather along with other participants.

Geography of the area. Aside from focusing on the physical aspect of your preparation, it could help if you take time to get to know the details of the area that you will be working as well. Yes, you are preparing well, but there may be some factors in the location that you want to see if you plan on creating a strategy as well on how to maneuver in it.

Prepare the necessary gears. Then, check the gears that you have. Since its a triathlon, then you will have to stash more equipment more than just your running shoes and clothing. Materials like goggles, bicycle and other accessories have to be prepared well. Needless to say, they have to be on high quality to withstand the pressure and workload during the competition.

Strengthen your stamina. Unless you are physically prepared, you better forget any plans of joining this strenuous activity. Being physically fit is necessary to ensure safety during the competition. You will be dealing with hours of continuous battle against different terrains. Building up your stamina to withstand this a must.

Practice and monitor your progress. Lastly, devise a strategy that will help you monitor the progress of your practice. This is vital to measure the current capacities that you have and whether or not you are capable of handling the entire activity.

If your goal is to bag the win for the competition, then all the more reason why you need to practice more. Many participants across different states and countries will join the activity. They all have prepared for it. To win, you will have to do more than what you are doing now.
